Singaraja-Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Undiksha held a Focus Group Discussion in Munti Gunung Kauh village, Tianyar, Karangasem, Tuesday (6/12).
In the context of implementing the Community Service Program, the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Education of Undiksha targets the village of Munti Gunung Kauh as a place for community service activities. The activity with the theme “Spirit of Harmony: Synergy for Campus Goes To the Village”, was opened by Deputy Dean 3, Cokorda Istri Raka Marsiti, S.Pd., M.Pd, together with the Hamlet Head of Munti Gunung Kauh Village.
The villagers community is very enthusiastic about the presence of FTK Undiksha in the midst of villagers activities which have decreased considerably since the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants who attended this workshop were the hamlet heads and community leaders in Munti Gunung Kauh village as well as the coordinator of study programs, lecturers, and employees in the Undiksha Faculty of Engineering and Vocational.
“We are very enthusiastic about the assistance that Undiksha will give us, the people of Munti Gunung Kauh village. There are several potentials that the village already has, such as woven ingka, lontar, wine, palm wine, tracking paths, maybe Undiksha can help us in terms of marketing or improvement and renewal of new potentials that we can develop in this village.”, Pak Ketut, Community Leader of Munti Gunung Village.
FTK also cooperates with partners from Goldcoin Indonesia, to help develop the potential that exists in the village. “We started this activity by observing the village’s potential, which we will foster in accordance with the existing study programs at FTK Undiksha. Perhaps, the implementation cannot be done instantly, therefore we invite Goldcoin partners as well so that our intention to help increase village potential is not only verbally”, Mrs. Vice Dean 3.
The discussion event was filled with the delivery of information from the village related to the potential of the village, the problems faced by the village related to the economy and employment, the delivery of ideas and ideas for each corporate regarding appropriate assistance for the village. The event ended with a group photo session. Hopefully the P2M activities in Munti Gunung Kauh Village can be realized and implemented properly in 2022.
