The Family Welfare Education Study Programme (PKK) is increasingly showing its class as one of the study programmes to be reckoned with. Trying to get rid of the image as a Family Welfare Education teacher-printing study programme, they held a Fashion Show and Makeup creation at the UNDIKSHA Auditorium on Thursday (05/12/2019).
The activity took the theme “Natural Phenomena,” which was deliberately held as a place to show the talents and creativity of PKK Study Programme students and express the work of Fashion and Beauty Design students. Ni Putu Novi Darmini, the head of the Activity Committee, said that the theme was chosen because of student interest in a current natural phenomenon, so it was carried as the theme of the activity. Furthermore, he revealed, “All of these are pure designs from 7th-semester students of Fashion and Beauty.” This indicates that the creativity of PKK students cannot be underestimated. In addition, it was revealed that this activity was a series of lecture activities and the anniversary of the PKK study program, and this activity presented models from internal and external UNDIKSHA.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational (FTK) Undiksha, Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, S.Pd., M.Pd., who opened this event, also emphasized that the PKK Study Program is now not only aiming to produce prospective PKK teachers but also to make students as professional graduates who have skills in fashion, makeup to culinary arts according to their specialization. This was conveyed when the Dean, who has served for two terms, gave a speech, “In addition to being given pedagogic competence as prospective teachers, PKK Study Programme students are also equipped with special skills such as fashion, makeup, and catering according to their interests.” He also said that UNDIKSHA appreciates this activity. Even UNDIKSHA will try to provide education so that students do not only have one competency. “In the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, all of our outputs or graduates (UNDIKSHA ed) are expected to have not only one competence but also multiple competencies. It is hoped that these skills in makeup and fashion can be turned into a profession as a designer and beautician for PKK graduates,” he added.
7th-semester students have long prepared for this activity. This annual routine activity begins with design consultations with supervisors, continues with the manufacture of products by students, and ends with a fashion show and 2019 makeup creation title held that day. In addition to presenting attractive models, this activity also presented three professional judges who assessed the results of the PKK student’s fashion and makeup designs. (hms)
