The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), in collaboration with SEAMEO Regional Centers, Ministry of Education and Culture, and Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, held the 3rd SEA CREATIVE CAMP “Future Careers for Youths: Integration with Entrepreneurship” in September 2018 – January 2019.
This event conducted 12 kinds of competition: 1) Fashion Design; 2) Waste Recycling; 3) Healthy Canteen; 4) Tourism Promotion; 5) Urban Agriculture; 6) Augmented Reality; 7) Game Development; 8) Applied Robotics; 9) Internet of Things; 10) 3D Printing; 11) Smart Schools, and 12) Virtual Reality. The participants are students and teachers from various vocational schools, TVET, and universities from 11 Southeast Asian countries.
Informatics Management (D3) Study Programme, Department of Informatics Engineering, FTK or Fakultas Teknik dan Kejuruan ( Faculty of Engineering and Vocational) representing UNDIKSHA Singaraja sent 3 teams to take part in the competition by taking two themes, namely Tourism Promotion and Virtual Reality. However, only one team made it to the final and won the 1st Winner in the Tourism Promotion field, which was registered by 62 teams from schools and campuses in the Southeast Asia region.
The Ganesha Buleleng (Gasbull) team won 1st place, consisting of Putu Juniarta Eka Saputra, Dewa Kadek Edwin Sanciko, Ni Kadek Mesi Damayanti with Advisor Agus Aan Jiwa Permana, S.Kom., M.Cs developed a SINGARAJA CITY TOUR project packaged in video duration (5:32).
This video, which can be accessed online on Youtube by typing the keyword “Ganesha Buleleng (GASBULL) -SINGARAJA CITY TOUR Tourism Promotion SEAMEO” tells the history of the development of the city of Singaraja through relics from the time of the Buleleng Kingdom led by Ki Barak Panji Sakti, the Dutch colonial period, until during the proclamation of Indonesian independence. Apart from being a base for education in Bali, the city of Singaraja also has the potential to be used as a tourist destination to attract domestic and foreign tourists to visit North Bali. Thus, this should receive special attention from the Buleleng district government, which can work with UNDIKSHA to develop a tourist attraction. There are many historical relics such as Puri Sukasada, Puri Buleleng, Panji Village, Buleleng Harbor during the royal period, the Regent’s Office (Former Dutch Administrative Office), the Office of the Governor of Sunda Kecil (Mr. I Ketut Pudja) which has been awarded the title of national hero to be able to become as Singaraja City Tour.
