The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many negative impacts on education. The universities that have vocational programmes study feel the negative impact, especially in implementing fieldwork activities. Therefore, the FTK or Fakultas Teknik dan Kejuruan (Faculty of Engineering and Vocational) held an international seminar online on Wednesday (2/6) at a virtual Zoom meeting.
In this international webinar, FTK collaborated with Edu Excellence and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland) to share ideas and discuss the sustainability of vocational universities amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. This international webinar carried “Sustainability for Vocational Education During COVID-19”.
The event was opened with remarks by the Vice President of Edu Excellence, Dr. Jan-Markus Holm, and the Dean of FTK Undiksha, Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, M.Pd. The event was continued with seminar activities filled by two resource persons, Dr. Jari Laukia, The Director of the School of Vocational Teacher Education at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. The second resource person is Ida Bagus Purwa Sidemen, S.Ag., M.Si, a representative of PHRI BPD Bali.
“This is a challenge that is quite difficult for us and also an opportunity for us to collaborate with all aspects and situations that exist in managing education in the future after this pandemic, which is clear we will never return to the past in managing education as before the COVID-19 is here.”-Dean, FTK (Wednesday, 3/6).
The event ended with a QnA session and an internal discussion regarding the collaboration between FTK UNDIKSHA and Haaga Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland) through Edu Excellence
