Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education students made another brilliant achievement at the national level. This achievement was presented by the Sifors Unggul team from the 2021 Student Science Week Expo (EPIM) held by Jember State University, on 16 September 2021. The team consisting of Irfan Walhidayah, Fachradina Yuniar, and I Gede Anggie Suardika Arpin won first place in the business competition category ICT.

This team presented a work by Startup Rudaya-Connect The Art, which is a mobile-based application that can connect art service seekers with traditional artists in Indonesia. Team leader, Irfan Walhidayah, explained that the work was specifically designed for art and culture lovers throughout Indonesia with various easy-to-use features. “It has a modern and elegant appearance and is equipped with various features that can make it easier for users,” he explained, Friday, (17/09/2021).

This student from Medan, North Sumatra explained that the background to making this work was inseparable from Indonesia’s cultural diversity which then gave birth to traditional artists with various skills, so it was deemed necessary to be assisted through an application. “From this culture, traditional artists emerged from various skill categories. With advances in technology, it is appropriate for a technology-savvy generation to help introduce traditional artists in Indonesia through an application,” he explained.

This work has several advantages, including easy access, a media bridge between traditional artists throughout Indonesia, and a media link between those seeking traditional art services and traditional artists, and this innovation can improve the quality of Indonesian art. This is one of the introductions to achieving achievement.

As a student of the information systems study program, this student born in 1999 certainly encouraged him to be able to take part in this competition with his team to implement the theory he had obtained. “The information systems study program at Undiksha adopts coursesTechnopreneurship which discusses the world start-up and how to build a startup. “Therefore, my team and I are very happy to take part in this competition as a manifestation and implementation of the theories studied in the course,” he explained.

Even though during the process of creating the work they encountered difficulties in managing time, in the end, the hard work put in by this team for approximately 1 month succeeded in producing results and made the team excel in the event. “We as a team must be able to divide our time between practical work, taking part in competitions, and attending lectures. “Finally, we are very happy because the team that took part in this event came from a cool campus and has a big name, and on this occasion, Undiksha or our team was given the confidence to become 1st place,” said this 22-year-old student.

Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni and Public Relations Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for this achievement. “We appreciate this achievement. Undiksha feels proud,” he said. Apart from this team, in the future, it is hoped that other students can achieve further achievements to increase the competitiveness of themselves and the university.
