Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education students take turns making international achievements. This time it comes from the 2021 CU-OCIIP Creativity & Innovation Expo The Pathway To Sustainable Development which took place in Nigeria. In this event, the Undiksha team consisted of Gede Sandita Widiada from the Electrical Engineering Education Study Program, Kadek Reda Setiawan Suda who is an alumnus of Electrical Engineering Education, Ni Putu Ayu Yuli Sumadianti from the Bachelor of Accounting Study Program, Andi Prasetya from the Japanese Language Education Study Program, and Luh Putu Restu Adi Utami from the English Language Education Masters Study Program.
Gede Sandita Widiada the team representative explained that at this event they displayed a work entitled “TESISS: Electrical Installation Trainer Inbow Portable” which is a learning medium for the field of electricity. The form is portable or small in size without compromising basic learning for students so it is easy to carry anywhere. Apart from that, the electrical schematic is also clearly depicted on the acrylic board. “We also provide a guidebook for using this learning media,” he said Sunday, (3/10/2021).
This student, who was born in Banyuning, Buleleng, added that the creation of this work was based on obstacles in the student’s practicum, one of which was due to damaged or missing electrical components. Apart from that, electrical components are modular, so they require integrated learning media that are reusable. Another thing, there is a decrease in students’ interest in learning because learning focuses more on theory. “Because of these problems, we need innovative learning media that can inspire students’ enthusiasm for learning,” he added.
Thanks to the work they created, the Undiksha team managed to win a Gold Medal in this event after competing with participants from 28 countries, including from Asia, Europe, and even the American continent. This student born in 1999 admitted that his success in achieving this achievement was inseparable from the preparations carried out for a month and also the support of the leadership of the Ganesha University of Education and guidance from Dr. Nyoman Santiyadnya, S.Si., M.T. Through the achievements obtained in the event which took place from 25 August to 30 September 2021, of course there is a special pride for the team because they have been able to make Undiksha’s name proud at the international level. “We don’t forget to thank God for His blessings and grace that we were able to get here, the enthusiasm of the team, and the attitude of mutual trust in the team,” he explained.
Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni and Public Relations Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for this achievement. Likewise for the enthusiasm of students and supervisors. “This is very encouraging. We appreciate it. “Hopefully in the future, more students will succeed in achieving more achievements,” he said. He further stated that achievements are very important to support university rankings and to accelerate the realization of Undiksha’s vision of “Becoming a Superior University Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy in Asia by 2045” as well as to increase student competitiveness.
